After his mother leaves believing in a report full of errors, Lee decides to find out that Park Mi-jeong is not a witch. Reflecting on his past and his mother's wishes, he goes into battle to prove that Mi-jeong is not a witch. Lee Dong-jin uses his data and analysis skills to gather accidents related to witch incidents and begin making a witch map. He believes that by referring to San Francisco's case of crime maps, he will be able to identify variables of accident and predict accidents.

Meanwhile, Park Mi-jeong continues her life of isolating herself and avoiding contact with people. While working in translation, she encounters Rapunzel's story about a witch, and she is fascinated by the village in it. Mi-jeong is confused whether she is trapped in the world or whether the world is trapping her, but she tries to find small happiness in it.

Lee Dong-jin makes a deal with the current tenant to live in front of the undefined house, and finally lives in a location where he can see the undefined house. He peeks at her mail and peeks into the undefined daily life in a conversation with his friend Heo Eun-sil. Eun-sil worries about Dong-jin's undecided condition and suspects him, but Dong-jin glosses over the situation.

Mijung talks about her dream of traveling to the Austrian town of Halsstadt while working on translation. She is self-sufficient on rooftops, growing vegetables, and trying to make her own space away from city life. However, Dongjin realizes that Mijung's isolated life feels like a curse to her.

As Dong-jin listens to the stories of the crimes and victims in the incident, he deeply understands the damage caused by the results of the program he created. He witnesses the victim being assaulted, feels his incompetence, and apologizes. In this process, he deeply realizes that things in the world cannot be solved by numbers alone.

Dong-jin works with Jung-hyuk to come up with measures to protect the victim, and Jung-hyuk offers the victim personal protection. Eventually, however, the victim is taken to a hospital with big wounds before Jung-hyuk arrives. This incident shocks Dong-jin and Jung-hyuk greatly, and Dong-jin once again thinks about what he has to do.

Lee Dong-jin decides to return to his hometown of Taebaek, where Park Mi-jung confines himself. He returns to his hometown three years after his mother's death, where he tries to find clues to prove his undefined innocence. Beyond his role as a data minor, he realizes that he needs work to capture emotions and humanity.

Dong-jin tries to stand by Park, trying to restore her relationship with her. He shows that she is struggling to prove that Mi-jeong is not a witch. The two protagonists grow up going through hardships in their own ways, and miss each other's existence desperately.
